Jesus Was a Sales & Marketing Genius and How You Can Be One, Too!

God-Centered Entrepreneurs tend to fall in love with the divinity of Jesus, but fail to understand the kind of man that He was. Once you open your mind to understanding the man of Jesus, you’ll understand that he operated specific principles to move his mission into the world and facilitated massive global transformation in the world with ease and grace.

When speaking to mompreneurs, I always see a trend arise when they share their struggles with me. They experience quite a bit of confusion around marketing. They’re not sure what marketing is and what role it plays in the success of their business.


Marketing is the act of storytelling. Seth Godin put it this way, “Marketing used to be what you say. Now, marketing is what you do. What you make. How you act. The choices you make when you are sure no one is looking.” Marketing tells people who you are and how your product or service is the solution to getting what they want more of in their world.


The Problem for Most Entrepreneurs


The problem a lot of entrepreneurs are facing is that they confuse promoting and advertising with marketing. Don’t get me wrong, promoting and advertising is part of the marketing process, but it should be used within a deliberate and diverse plan.

  • If your current marketing plan is all about promoting your product or service, you’re missing the point of marketing.
  • If your current marketing plan is simply about posting quotes and pictures on social media, you’re missing the point of marketing.

Marketing is about bringing awareness to and educating your market.


Another aspect of marketing is realizing that a well-crafted marketing plan should draw your audience in by making your ideal client want to call you and experience your gorgeous program, product or service. With this information about marketing in mind, let’s take a look at how Jesus implemented some of these marketing principles into his business plan. Yes, Jesus has a business. He is in the business of winning souls. Ha!


Let’s be clear when Jesus walked through the land preaching and teaching, He was marketing his message. Here are three scriptures that demonstrate three principles of marketing: educate, communicate and demonstrate.

  1. Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples saying…Matthew 23:2  
  2. The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?" Matthew 12:1 (COMMUNICATION)
  3. And they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Jesus and implored Him to touch him. Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, "Do you see anything?” Mark 8:22-26 (Demonstration)


In all cases, you see Jesus educating the market on who he is, why he is there and how he can support them. He created a communications pipeline so they can engage with him, learn his personality, and trust in His abilities to deliver what He promised.

Declutter Your Mind: Quick Tips to Accelerate Your Brand

Opportunity ADD plagues most if not all high-achieving women. Once you're in the creative flow ideas begin to pour forth and are limitless. Here is the key, you must pick one or two ideas or three at most, to throw your energy into. I know this is challenging but until you grow your ideas to a mature state where other people can help manage and develop them, you're doing your idea and the people they serve a disservice. Your million dollar ideas are about affecting people in a positive manner. They are also profit generating entity that will positively affect your wallet.

But, how do you stop yourself from moving from one idea to the next?


1. Identify your mission and purpose & abilities: The idea that takes the least amount of energy will feed into the other ideas at some point. Start there.

2. Keep an idea journal: Jot down all of your million dollar ideas and map out all of the details that you have about that idea. Once you get the idea out of your mind your can clear up some brain space to create, build and expand your main idea, mission or movement. When the mind is filled with ideas/information that is not filed or sorted it swirls around in your mind. You must capture and sort the information immediately.

3. Remember: Multi-tasking/Multi-anything is a myth. You only have a 100% to give to any given thing that you are doing at the moment. There is no such thing as 200%.

You have to properly manage your energy and know that for every idea, event, & situation that you take on mentally, physically and spiritually- your ability to give 100% automatically diminishes.
